How to install Laminate in a hallway

It is really critical to know a few good tips about how to install laminate in a hallway before you get started. I have broke this down to make this as simple as it can possibly be. I am really glad to be able to share this with you so you don’t have to go through the pain and agony that I did when I first started installing laminate.

I really didn’t have a clue what I was doing. Or at least I didn’t know any of the tips and tricks of the trade that I am about to share with you. So sit back and soak in as much as you can.  I will guide you through how to install laminate in a hallway and I am confident you will feel like a pro when we are all done.

Things you need to think about before starting

First things first, if you have not started your laminate installation yet, than I recommend that you start from the beginning. I go through all of the steps for with you on my getting started page. You can get there by clicking on the link below.

Laminate Installation – Start Here

It really will help you out a ton if you go through my post on how to layout a laminate floor. Then you can adjust your planks to be even along both walls in the hallway or at the very least you will be able to avoid pieces that are too small.

Tools that you will need

Well to start out you will need the obvious and that is a saw of some sort to cut the laminate. I see no problem with being able to use a jigsaw for the entire job. They are cheap and most DIY’ers own one anyway. There really is no need for a table saw.

  • chalk line
  • tape measure
  • tapping block
  • prybar
  • laminate flooring pull bar
  • screw gun with a drill bit and a screw bit

I will explain in the videos what all these tools will be used for. But first I will show you what a good tapping block and pull bar look like. DON’T make the mistake of buying the crap they sell at the home improvement stores. They really don’t have what you need to get the job done.

Both of these tools are high quality and will definitely get the job done. Both of these are available on Amazon and you can click on either of them to purchase. I do want to let you know up front that i do get a commission on these if you buy them through my links. This is not why I recommend them!

If you choose to buy these through my links I thank you very much!! It really does help me out and it helps keep the site up and running.  If not, than that is okay too!

I hope these videos on how to install laminate in a hallway helped you out. I know that there was a lot of stuff packed into both of those videos. Just watch them again and be sure you didn’t miss anything. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Just post them below or go to my facebook page and post them there. That is by far the quickest way to ask.
